Emergency Services
Emergency care is an
important part of our practice. We strive to be available
for our clients and their horses or pets, when emergencies
arise. Many emergencies are obvious, however if it is
unclear, please feel free to call.
Daytime Emergencies
|
Business
hours are Monday-Friday: 8:00am – 5:30pm
Saturday:
8:00am – 12:00pm
If you have a
daytime emergency with your horse or pet, call
CVS
immediately to schedule an appointment
with Dr. Winter. Our certified staff will
advise you how to care for your horse or pet
until Dr. Winter is able to perform an exam. |
After Hours Emergencies
|
Our answering
service will provide you with Dr. Winter’s pager
number
(612-740-5673)
A message will
instruct you to carefully dial your area code
and phone number. Dr. Winter will return your
call as soon as possible. Please stay off your
phone until he is able to reach you.
Provide him with
your name, area code, home phone number, cell
phone number, and your horse’s or pet’s name,
age, sex, and breed.
Give a brief
description of the health issue you are
experiencing with your horse or pet.
Be prepared to
list specific details, such as the location and
nature of the injury and their vital signs. |
For Small Animal Emergencies:
When you call, Dr. Winter
will schedule a time to meet you at the clinic. Thoroughly
explain your situation to him on the phone so he can be
prepared when you arrive and have an assistant to help if
needed. Click here for more detailed information on small
animal emergencies.
For Equine Emergencies:
Provide Dr. Winter with your address & directions to your
stable or farm. It will save you time and money if you bring
your horse to the clinic. CVS has a heated barn with a stock
and an indoor arena. Click here for more detailed
information about Equine Emergencies.
